Offsite SEO: Directory Submission

Something that might be able to help your offsite SEO efforts is Directory Submission.

There are a few pay-to-play website directories that carry clout with Google.

While I do not think taking time to submit your site to directories is horrible, my experience shows me that this is not a great use of your time (if you do this yourself) or money (if you pay someone else to do this), especially for the free ones.

There are MANY free directories that will let you leave YOUR link on their Directory Website for free (or a small fee).

What is the harm?  Free is glee, right?

Offsite SEO: Blog Commenting

There are two names to the Offsite SEO game:
  1. Generate Traffic
  2. Create Backlinks
Now, "Generate Traffic" could be an immediate response, or it could be a slow cooking approach with a lot of branding.

The main thing, though, is creating backlinks.

We can use OTHER people's blogs to create backlinks or generate traffic to our site.  We can simply leave comments on their blogs.

Careful!  There is a right way and a wrong way to do this!

Should we just post comments, anywhere?

Offsite SEO: Press Releases

Press Releases are an essential part of offsite SEO and are a great way to establish your company brand and your website.

Press release writing is one of the least advertising methods of online marketing; however, it is one of the most effective methods of marketing. It offers short and long term benefits.

A press release is something that is written to be read by the news media about an upcoming or past event for them to turn into an article. Another words, a press release comes from you or someone that is writing about you.

However, people tend to mistake press releases as part of the actual news. Most people do NOT know the difference. If you are writing about you or your company, do you think that you might be able to control what is “said” about either?

Press release marketing can be powerful.

Offsite SEO: Writing Articles

Articles are an essential part of offsite SEO and are a great way to establish yourself and your website.

Article writing used to be more popular.  A lot of people did it, and it became a less effective way to improve your website's standing.  So many Internet gurus downplay it today, and they are right in many ways.

However, marketing your business is really important.  There are many ways to do this, and articles cover several of these.

Keywords: The Amazing Category

Often I will hear people say that content is king in Google.  Google thrives on getting new information.  The more it has, the more valuable it becomes.

If content is king, then keywords are the queen of Google (or any other search engine).
